The purpose of this study was to describe the role of the head of the madrasah in improving the effectiveness of teacher work at the Alwashliyah Integrated Private Elementary Madrasah in Pematangsiantar City, secondly to describe the obstacles that hinder the improvement of teacher work effectiveness at the Alwashliyah Integrated Private Elementary Madrasah in Pematangsiantar City. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques used, namely observation, interview, and documentary methods. The data obtained were analyzed by describing the data that had been obtained to obtain conclusions. The results of this study are The head of the madrasah has maximized the effectiveness of teacher work with the main role of the head of the madrasah in improving the effectiveness of teacher work as an educator and supervisor. He holds routine training, workshops, and seminars as an educator, as well as conducting regular supervision and discussions with teachers to overcome the challenges faced as a supervisor and the head of the madrasah carries out his duties and responsibilities effectively, efficiently, and wisely.
