Abstract

Islam has  a  history of  civilization from various dynasties around the  world, one  of  the dynasties that  is  no  less  important to  discuss  is  the  dynasty  in  the  African  continent, namely  the Muwahhidun dynasty. This dynasty ruled for almost one and a half centuries or more precisely 143 years. The conquest of North Africa by the Umayyah dynasty was a very important moment for the Umayyah daulah, at which time there was a decline in the Fatimiyah and Abbasiyah powers. As for the founder of the Muwahhidun Dynasty, Muhammad Ibnu Tumart, at first he founded this dynasty as a religious movement apart from that this dynasty was formed as a result of an effort against the Almoravid dynasty. The dominions of the dynasty included North Africa and Spain. The achievements of this dynasty apart from expanding its power to Spanish territory were in the fields of economy, architecture, science and philosophy. This dynasty has suffered a setback since Muhammad an-Nashir's leadership because he lacked extensive political knowledge like the previous leaders.
