This research aims to investigate the leadership replacement system during the time of Abu Bakar as-Siddiq and Umar bin Khattab in the context of early Islamic leadership. The main focus of this research is to understand how the process of selecting the Caliph (leader) was carried out, the role and responsibilities of the Caliph, as well as the influence of the system of replacing heads of state on the political and social stability of society at that time. The research method used is historical and comparative analysis, using primary sources such as Islamic history and hadith literature. This research also considers Islamic theological and legal perspectives related to the concept of the Caliph and Amir al-Mu'minin as leaders of the Muslim community. It is hoped that the results of this research will provide a better understanding of the political and social processes in leadership selection during the era of Caliphs Abu Bakar as-Siddiq and Umar bin Khattab. The implications of this research can provide insight into the context of modern leadership and government systems in understanding the principles of leadership succession in Islam.
