This paper explores the historical and sociological dynamics between religion and science. Religion, which once held dominant authority in primitive and pre-industrial societies, began to lose its influence with the rise of scientific rationalism during the 15th-century Renaissance, sparking epistemological conflict between religious dogma and empirical science. The study employs a qualitative approach through library research and historical-sociological analysis. The data is analyzed using thematic content analysis and contextual comparison to trace patterns of conflict and potential integration. Findings reveal that value-free science has led to moral and spiritual decline. Hence, a reconciliation between religion and science is essential to restore balance between rationality and morality. The study concludes that religion and science should not oppose one another but collaborate to address the ethical and existential challenges of modern humanity.
